It is reported that Jindal Steel and Power Limited, a mega Indian company exploring and mining alluvial in Congo, is interested in diversifying into the diamond business.
As per report Jindal Steel and Power has planned on sending most of the diamonds mined in Congo to Surat where it will set up a preliminary marketing office with a sales team of marketing experts and rough diamond sorters. The office will directly sell roughs to Surat based diamond manufacturers.
The report said that it will also receive technical guidance from Indian Diamond Institute in Surat. The Group is also planning to venture into diamond processing.
