The Peninsula cited Mr HE Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah deputy Premier and minister of energy and industry of Qatar as saying that industrial sector is expected to account for some 40% of world natural gas consumption by 2030.
Mr Al Attiyah said that “Natural gas will remain a key energy source for industrial generation. The industrial sector currently consumes more natural gas than any other sector and that trend is expected to continue through 2030, when 40% of world natural gas consumption will be for industrial purposes.”
He said that the year 2009 has seen collaborative global efforts to recover from the economic recession. The consequences of the economic crisis were not just limited to financial institutions but they have directly affected other markets including oil and gas.
