It is reported that Sir Ratan Tata Trust was awarded the Agriculture Leadership Award 2009 under the category of 'Corporate Social Responsibility.
The award was presented by Montek Singh Ahluwalia deputy chairman of Planning Commission at a function held in New Delhi recently. The award was received by Ms Vartika Jaini assistant program manager on behalf of the trust.
The Agriculture Leadership Awards were instituted in 2008 by the Agriculture Today Group to recognize the leadership roles played by individuals and institutions, which are positively impacting the lives of farmers and rural masses. Agriculture Today as an information provider and a knowledge-based networking vehicle, has been at the forefront in contributing to the growth of the farm sector. Bridging the gap at the national level to recognize the contributions of various stakeholders in agriculture, the magazine has taken a step forward to reward and motivate individuals and organizations for their leadership roles in agriculture.
