The public sector company Instrumentation Limited Palakkad has manufactured a butterfly valve of 2,800 mm diameter for the Gillanders Arbuthnot and Co Ltd Kolkata for the Vizag steel plant.
The valve is worth INR 1.8 million and design and assembling of the valve was completely carried out at the Palakkad unit of the Instrumentation Limited.
Mr N K Srivastava GM of Instrumentation Limited Palakkad said that this was the largest ever manufactured butterfly valve by any public sector unit in the country. The gate of the company should be reconstructed in order to take the valve out from the site.
