NPCIL in talks with Indian Oil and NALCO

It is reported that Nuclear Power Corp of India is in talks with Indian Oil Corp and National Aluminium to convince the two companies to invest in the nuclear power monopoly's upcoming power projects.

Mr SK Jain chairman of NPCIL said that NPCIL and Bharat Heavy Electricals are in technology transfer talks with France's Alstom SA, US based General Electric Co and Germany's Siemens AG for a nuclear turbine joint venture.

NPCIL and state run power equipment maker Bharat Heavy are believed to be seeking a third partner for a 700MW nuclear turbine manufacturing joint venture in India.

Mr Jain said that each company will hold a 33% stake in the joint venture.
