Projects Today reported that Facor Steels has successfully commissioned its forging plant on July 10th 2009 at Nagpur (Maharashtra).
The forging plant will be used for manufacturing of heavy rounds from Ingots and has an annual capacity of 12,000 tonne. It has been set up at expenditure of about INR 26.14 crore.
However, the plant will produce 150mm to 600mm rounds apart from stepped shafts, squares, flanges etc. The grades will be plain carbon, low alloy, stainless s and tool steels. Apart from forging, the plant also has the capacity to heat treat and machine the product for closer size tolerance.
The newly commissioned forging plant consists of a 2,000 tonne DAVY Open Die Forging Press, 58 tonne Glama Manipulator (Rail Bound), EOT Cranes of 15 tonne and 35 tonne capacity, Control Cooling Pit etc.
