China Metallurgical News reported that Baotou Iron and Steel Co Ltd has lately succeeded in trial-application of BT110T high anti-collapse oil casing pipes in Deyang, Sichuan province, completely meeting the pressure demands of gas well.
As per report, Baotou Steel has earlier started the research on BT110T high anti-collapse oil steel casing pipes in 2006, which is 1.46 times than the standards in terms of anti-collapse strength, when accepting the quality evaluations of Tubular Goods Research Center of CNPC in 2007.
On December 13th 2008, the steel mill has signed a trial-application agreement with Southwest Subsidiary of Sinopec, and it sent nearly 500 tonnes of oil casing pipes to Deyang, Sichuan province in January this year.

China's Baosteel Co Ltd applies price increases to wire rods and heavy plates in its notice to domestic customers on the company's price terms of various steel products for August shipment. Baosteel is said to have applied flat prices to slabs and tubular products this time.
The price increases are CNYY 300 per tonne for wire rods, CNY 200 per tonne for commodity grade heavy plates, CNY 300 per tonne for boiler plates and CNY 150 per tonne for ship plates.
It is understood that Baosteel has opted to price up heavy plates in reaction to separate price increases of heavy plates by Wuhan Iron & Steel Group Corp and Anshan Iron & Steel Group Corp. For July shipments, Wuhan's and Anshan's price increases are CNY 230 per tonne and CNY 100 per tonne respectively.
According to market sources, Chinese steelmakers are thought to have offered a price increase of USD 50 per tonne to USD 500 per tonne C&F in their deals of heavy plate exports to South Korea for July to September shipments. It is uncertain so far whether the Chinese steelmakers have firmed up what they export.
