Rays of recovery - Egypt Suez Canal revenue up by 7pct in August

Revenue from Egypt's Suez Canal rose 7.3% from July to USD 436 million in August. Revenue in July was USD 406.2 million.

The waterway is a vital source of foreign currency in Egypt, along with tourism, oil and gas exports and remittances from Egyptians living abroad.
