Hannans Reward has commenced a combined reverse circulation and diamond drilling program targeting manganese at its 3,000 square kilometre Jigalong project in the South-East Pilbara region of Western Australia.
The project is well located adjacent to FerrAus Ltd iron ore project, 5 kilometres from Consolidated Minerals Ltd Coobina chromite mine, 40 kilometres south of Minerals Resources Nicholas Downs manganese mine and 150 kilometres south of Consolidated Woodie Woodie manganese mine.
Drilling has commenced at the Hill 616 manganese prospect and is expected to be completed by late October or early November. Hill 616 will be tested initially with a planned 163 reverse circulation holes for about 4,500 metres. RC drilling at Dead Camel manganese is scheduled to commence in early October. The company expects the first batch of results to be available in late October.
A further 12 Diamond holes will be drilled at Hill 616 for approximately 400 metres, with the resulting core to be used for metallurgical test work purposes. Field work has confirmed that there is extensive manganese mineralization within the project area and that its likely Hannans will outline sufficient manganese mineralization from the RC and diamond drill program to lodge a mineralization report with the Department of Mines & Petroleum.
