TATA Steel to support Industrial Training Institutes effort

The central government’s project of upgrading its Industrial Training Institutes through private public partnership has received a warm response from TATA Steel.

The steel major has agreed to extend its support towards upgrading ITI at Burudih in Kharsawan an institute that has been adopted by the Union government for this purpose. As a start up to this project, a computer training centre was unveiled at its premises.

ITI Burudih is one of the 1,396 government ITIs that will be developed as centre for excellence. Each of the centres will be governed by an institute management committee headed by a representative from the industry with members from other companies, technical training institutions and association of industries.

Besides TATA Steel, the IMC of ITI, Burudih consists of members from the Adityapur Small Industries Association, RD TATA Technical Education Centre, Tayo and ISWP.
