SAIL output in August up by 20pct

Steel giant Steel Authority of India Ltd said it has registered 20% growth in steel production in August over the year ago period.

The report quoted Mr SK Roongta chairman of SAIL as saying that “The company's August sales was up by 20% year on year basis.”

He said that in July the state run steel producer had registered 14% growth in its steel production to over one million tonnes from the year ago period.
