The Hindu reported that Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited achieved the best ever sales of INR 1,080 crore in August 2009, which is the best for any August since inception despite recession and current market driven sales realization.
According to a spokesman of RINL, significant achievement has been the volume of sale of ‘saleable steel to the tune of 0.334 million tonnes in August registering a growth of 148% YoY.
August highlights
1. Value added steel sale of 0.226 million tonnes up by 133% YoY.
2. 26,000 tonnes of pig iron exports
3. Sales value of by products up by 25% YoY
4. Sale of 44,980 tonnes of steel to projects up by 8% YoY
5. 0.105 million tonnes of steel inventory was reduced
April to August 2009
1. 1.099 million tonnes of saleable steel up by 11% YoY
2. Sale of 0.241 million tonnes of pig iron up by 162% YoY
3. Sale of 0.81 million tonnes of value added steel up by 10% YoY
