US DOC exempts Jindal Industries from pipes AD review

The US Department of Commerce has announced the rescission in part of its antidumping duty administrative review on certain welded carbon steel standard pipes and tubes from India.

On June 24th 2009, in response to a request from the petitioner, Wheatland Tube Company, the DOC published a notice of initiation of administrative review of the antidumping duty order on certain welded carbon steel standard pipes and tubes from India.

The period of review is May 1st 2008, through April 30th 2009.

The DOC selected two mandatory respondents, Lloyds Metals and Engineers Limited and Jindal Industries Ltd.

On September 22nd 2009, the petitioner withdrew its request for an administrative review of Jindal.

Since the DOC received no other requests for review of Jindal Industries Ltd., it has rescinded the review in part with respect to certain welded carbon steel standard pipes and tubes from India originating from Jindal.

However the administrative review will continue with respect to Lloyds Metals.
