Odisha Today reported that Orissa state government has rejected reports that claiming steel giant ArcelorMittal is close to pulling out its proposed steel projects in Orissa.
Mr Naveen Patnaik chief minister of Orissa told reporters that “I have no information on that. Maybe he was talking about the land acquisition problems. The land acquisition process is still on in the state.”
British daily Financial Times Sunday quoted Mr LN Mittal CEO of ArcelorMittal as saying his company may pull out of the USD 20 billion plan to build Greenfield steel projects in Jharkhand and Orissa. He was quoted as saying that “If the land acquisition problems were not resolved soon, the company would look for alternative sites for the projects.”
